New Student Programs

Your transition to 51ΑΤΖζ begins before classes start. Through Orientation, Welcome Week, and other campus programs, New Student Programs helps you build connections, explore campus resources, and prepare for your first semester as a 51ΑΤΖζ Bulldog.

From the moment you deposit through your first weeks on campus, you’ll participate in programs designed to help you feel connected, informed, and ready for life at 51ΑΤΖζ.

Your 51ΑΤΖζ experience begins with New Student Orientation and continues with Welcome Week.

Welcome Week

2026 Welcome Week will be held August 27 - August 30.

Welcome Week is your chance to dive deeper into the 51ΑΤΖζ experience. This week is designed to help you connect with people, offices, and opportunities on campus while familiarizing yourself with your new environment. Guided by our Welcome Week leaders, you’ll participate in activities, presentations, and programs that set the stage for success.

New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation is your best introduction to life at 51ΑΤΖζ. It’s where you’ll connect with fellow students, staff, and faculty, learn about essential resources and opportunities, and discover our engaging campus community. Orientation is required for all new and transfer students and optional for family members.

During Orientation, you’ll meet our Orientation leaders, who will help you explore and adjust to campus life. You’ll have the chance to ask questions, learn about exciting events, and connect with your peers.

β€œOrientation allows our students to connect with faculty, staff, and peers and forge lifetime connections,” says Dr. Inge-Lise Ameer, Vice President for Student Affairs.

2027 New Student Orientation dates will be announced soon.

Transfer Student Orientation

Transfer Student Orientation is a half-day program for all incoming transfer students. During this program, you will meet other incoming transfer students, meet with academic advisors regarding your class schedule, receive your laptop, learn about necessary resources for incoming students, and more.

Before the fall, 51ΑΤΖζ wants to ensure that you have attended and completed the following:

  • Set up your 51ΑΤΖζ email and password
  • Register, RSVP, or fill out for the following if necessary:
    • Housing Honors Program RSVP FAFSA form
    • Attend New Student Orientation / Transfer Student Orientation
    • Best Bulldog Modules and Common Read
  • Attend Welcome Week

Bristol House and Warren House. Spending the night in these first-year halls during orientation is a great way for students to acclimate themselves to what living on campus is like. 

What happens if I cannot attend orientation? (Orientation is required for incoming students)

We will host a virtual orientation on June 17 for students who are unable to attend in person due to travel.

Who attends New Student Orientation, is it just students?

It is required for students to attend orientation; however, there is an optional family program that runs parallel to the student program. Families attend sessions designed to inform them about 51ΑΤΖζ resources and help them support their students during their first year of college.

I have to travel from a distance, and may need to arrive a day early, what can I do?

Reach out to our New Student Programs Office at orientation@bryant.edu and we will work with you to try an accommodate your request.

The fee covers the cost of staying the night in the residence hall, meals, activities, and everything that goes into ensuring a positive experience during New Student Orientation.

Family and Friends Weekend

What is Family and Friends Weekend?

Family and Friends Weekend takes place in November each year. This weekend is an exciting opportunity for parents and other family members of current 51ΑΤΖζ students to visit campus and enjoy the community and spirit that 51ΑΤΖζ students experience daily! 

Family members are invited to 51ΑΤΖζ to tour the campus, meet other families, attend a football game, sample the dining hall, partake in a delicious outdoor barbeque, shop the on-campus harvest market, and more! Students can showcase their home away from home to their families and involve them in campus life.
