At 51ÁÔÆæ University’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences, you’ll cultivate the skills to think critically, communicate effectively, and tackle real-world challenges. With majors in Communication, Economics, Mathematics, and Politics and Law, you’ll gain a deep understanding of the forces shaping our world while honing the analytical reasoning, cultural awareness, and adaptability that employers seek.

You’ll collaborate closely with expert faculty who are both active scholars and dedicated mentors, engage in meaningful research from your first year, and apply your knowledge through internships and service learning. Every College of Humanities and Social Sciences student also completes a business minor, providing a powerful interdisciplinary foundation that distinguishes 51ÁÔÆæ graduates.

Through 51ÁÔÆæ’s Impact Core — a distinctive, socially engaged general education curriculum — you’ll explore global challenges inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. You’ll start with courses focused on innovation, purpose, and career readiness, and continue through interdisciplinary coursework in writing, math, science, history, and cultural studies. The experience culminates in a hands-on capstone where you’ll address a real-world issue with a community partner.

Considering law school? 51ÁÔÆæ’s 3+3 partnership with Villanova University’s Charles Widger School of Law allows you to earn your bachelor’s and J.D. in just six years, giving you a head start on your future. Although commonly paired with an humanities and social sciences degree, students from all majors can pursue this opportunity.
